        Recycling Helps Reduce How Much Waste We Create

In Broward County, we generate about 20,000 pounds of waste every minute.

The waste-to-energy facility is at capacity and the in-county landfill is nearing capacity; our waste has to go somewhere. 

It starts with you. Every cardboard box and aluminum can you recycle decreases the amount of waste that goes to the landfill or waste-to-energy facility.

Take the Authority Pledge

As a resident of Broward County and my city, I pledge to:

  1. Create less waste in my daily life
  2. Recycle correctly
  3. Reuse or repurpose as many items as possible
  4. Support the work the Authority is doing to decrease our dependency on the landfill and waste-to-energy facility
