We Can Do Better

Broward County has a recycling rate of about 32%, down from an estimated 39% in 2023, and well short of the State of Florida’s goal of 75%.

Through the Solid Waste Authority of Broward County, 28 cities and the County have come together to reduce waste going to landfills and waste-to-energy facilities. With the programs presented in the Solid Waste and Recycling Master Plan, we can divert approximately 62% of our waste from disposal.
