Understanding Our Local Waste Stream

To plan how we’ll manage our trash and recycling in the future, we must first understand where our trash comes from and how we recycle today. The studies and reports below identify the types of trash we produce at home and work. They also give ideas on how we can improve recycling habits and our environment with more responsible trash management. The Authority will be using the information in these reports and studies to help guide the Solid Waste Management and Recycling Master Plan for Broward County.
